Rishabh Pant was declared fit as a wicketkeeper batter on Tuesday 12 March by BCCI.
In December 2022, Pant was involved in a major car accident in the early morning. The accident ruled him out of competitive cricket ever since then. He underwent rehab for 14 months Rishabh had multiple surgeries in 2023 and went through an extensive strength and conditioning program. Now Pant has been officially given the green light to join his franchise team the Delhi Capitals by the Board of Control for Cricket. Pant was replaced as skipper of Delhi Capitals by David Warner of Australia last year.
On March 12 Rishabh was appointed as the captain of Delhi Capitals. The Delhi Capitals chairman and co-owner said “I can’t wait to see him walk our team out once again as we look forward to a new season with renewed passion, good health, and enthusiasm”. Rishabh can play for India at the T20 World Cup in West Indies and the United States in June. Since 2017, he has played for India a total of 129 times in all three formats.
